Government College Women University Faisalabad organized a seminar on "Interfaith Harmony and Tolerance in Pakistan in the Light of Seerat of the Holy Prophet PBUH". The event was chaired by VC GCWUF Prof. Dr. Zill-i-Huma Nazli. The guest speaker Dr Tanvir Qasim explained PHEC's aim to create an environment of moderation and tolerance in universities to prevent such incidents as was in Jaranwala and promote religious harmony. We get the lesson of protection of minorities through Islam. Universities should create an atmosphere of harmony by promoting tolerance. Our religion teaches peace. He said that due to the Jaranwala tragedy, Pakistan has been defamed at the international level, we need to live peacefully in universities, colleges, schools, mosques, and churches, we need to pay attention to these issues, we all have to abide by the law. We have to remove all the flaws in ourselves to prevent these incidents. There is a constitution in this country that gives equal rights to the people living here, whoever misuses this law should be punished at least the same, we need to improve our justice system. The religious books of the world religions teach about humanity. There is a need to dispel hatred, malice, and enmity and spread the awareness of love and honor of humanity. There is a need to highlight the importance and safety of human life, reputation, and property. Severe punishments should be imposed on human humiliation so that no one dares to desecrate human life. Islam teaches to respect the founders of other religions and all holy books, their places of worship, and their beliefs. Dr. Tanveer Qasim further said that Muslim scholars and religious scholars should work exclusively on issues that are common among religions. Nowadays, scholars should develop common moral and human values among the religions. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zill-i-Huma Nazli said in her message that tolerance is the beauty of Islamic society.
